Chantelle started her dental nursing career in 2010 and began working in orthodontics in 2012. Chantelle joined Queensway Orthodontics in 2015 and worked as a dental nurse and receptionist before taking on her new role in 2020 as Business Operations Co-ordinator.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

Being part of a forward-thinking orthodontic practice, and coming up with and creating new innovative ideas to improve our service, especially when it comes to our digital transformation.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

I am based at home, but can occasionally be found at any of our 7 practices – usually in the kitchen making a cup of tea!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing my ideas come to life and being implemented into our patient journey.

My children.

Lindsey started life in dentistry in 1997 as a dental nurse and progressed through other post qualifications before gaining a position at Leeds Dental Institute, where she gained her Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy in 2009.

Lindsey originally joined the Queensway Orthodontics team in 2017 on a part time basis but now works full time across our Bishop Auckland and Billingham sites.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

The feeling of working as a team!

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

A patient can find me at Billingham practice.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the confidence grow in a patient as their smile straightens.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Outside of work I enjoy being a mum (although this can be testing at times! ☺ ).

What makes you smile?

My family always make me smile.

Before becoming a dental nurse in general dentistry in 2018, Toni worked as a hairdresser. Toni wanted to learn about orthodontics, joining Queensway in 2022.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing patients who are self-conscious about their teeth gain confidence with their beautiful smiles at the end of treatment.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
Going out for food and drinks and spending time with family and friends.

My family

Gemma started dental nursing in 2006. She completed qualifications in radiography in 2015 and oral health in 2016. She joined Queensway Orthodontics in October 2017.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

I like working closely with the patients and being on their smile journey with them.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

Patients will usually find me in the clinic.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing peoples smile transform.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Outside of work I love to travel. My aim is to visit a new country every year.

Before joining Queensway Orthodontics, Gavin worked in the telecoms industry for over 23 years. He has been managing people for the last 17 years and its this part of the job that he enjoys the most.

What is your biggest achievement to date:
Professionally, becoming MD and getting this role at Queensway Orthodontics is my proudest achievement. It is a step up in my career and I am excited to help lead the development and strategic direction of the company. I look forward to supporting the growth of the company with our three new sites Bishop Auckland, Consett and Darlington and working alongside Guy and the team.

On a personal level a great achievement of mine is designing and building my dream home for me and my family.

What do you enjoy most about your role: I love being a people manager and making someone’s day by doing more than they expected. The most rewarding things about my role are seeing good people succeed and progressing in their careers – it’s great playing a part in that.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work:I enjoy playing golf where I can totally switch off from things. I have an annual trip to Spain (when I can) when I love to spend a few days playing golf and socialising with some great friends.

What makes you smile: My little girl Milly, she always brings a smile even when times are difficult. I love her more than anything in the world.

Amie started working in retail 13 years ago where she was a customer service apprentice in NEXT. Before joining Queensway Orthodontics in 2024, she had been working as a sales assistant in Beaverbrook’s Jewellers helping customers find their perfect piece of jewellery for lots of special occasions.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Knowing that I have done all I can for a patient and making them happy.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I enjoy spending time with my little girl and my husband. I love going out for food with my friends and watching films.

My two sausage dogs, Malcolm, and Frank.

Kate has eight years of experience with working as a receptionist at Falchion and My Dentist Orthodontics before joining Queensway Orthodontics in April 2020.

Chelsea began her journey as an apprentice dental nurse in 2014, earning her qualifications in 2016. After dedicating nine years to general dentistry, she transitioned to orthodontics, a field she had always been passionate about, when she joined QO in May 2023. She finds orthodontics truly fulfilling and thoroughly enjoys her work in the field.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In one of the surgeries.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing the result and the patient's reaction when their braces have been removed.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and going for walks on an evening after work.

What makes you smile? Seeing my family happy.

Jade became a dental nurse in 2008 and originally joined Queensway Orthodontics in 2010, before leaving to travel to world as an air hostess for six years. She missed us so much she came back and joined the team in 2020 and it has been great to have her back!

Where would you usually see me?

In one of the surgeries or in the scanner room in the Billingham practice.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing the patients smiling from ear to ear at the end of their orthodontic treatment.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Before coming to Queensway Orthodontics Jennifer worked in the Beauty, Promotional and Hospitality industries. Jen has brought an abundance of transferrable skills to her role as a Receptionist in our Jesmond clinic.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? At the front desk.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Being able to help patients with anything they may need and seeing how happy they are with the end results!

What do you enjoy doing out of work? Spending time with family, listening to music and socialising with friends.

What makes you smile? My lovely family and friends, going on holiday, animals and of course working with my amazing team!

Brooke earned her qualification in Dental Nursing from Teesside University in July 2023. Shortly after, she joined Queensway Orthodontics in August 2023.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In the surgery, I work alongside an orthodontic therapist.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is witnessing the perfect smiles at the end of patient’s orthodontic treatment and watching their confidence grow.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? I enjoy going to the gym and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Before joining Queensway Orthodontics in 2022, Leanne trained in Travel and Tourism gaining an NVQ in Travel and also had various customer service roles including working in a test centre for governments tests.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? Spending time with my family, dog and going on lots of adventures.

Vicky has been an integral part of the dental nursing profession since 1999, bringing with her decades of experience and a deep-seated passion for orthodontics. Her career began in general dentistry, where she honed her skills for several years before transitioning to orthodontics. Seeking to broaden her expertise, Vicky later ventured into cosmetic dentistry and implants, working in a private practice. Despite her success in other specialties, her love for orthodontics drew her back to the field. In March 2023, Vicky joined Queensway Orthodontics, where she continues to apply her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm to help patients achieve their best smiles.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In the surgery alongside a Therapist/Orthodontist or running nurse led clinics.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing a patient really happy with their end result.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? I’m a bit of a gym bunny and I’m there a fair bit. I also really enjoy walking my dog Tig

What makes you smile? My young nephews never fail to make me smile.

Bogdan started working for Queensway Orthodontics in 2024.

Before joining Queensway Orthodontics, Kailee worked at The Pottery Loft - a ceramic art studio creating precious hand/footprints for all ages - making keepsakes that are forever.

You would find me in the Patient Support Hub.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I enjoy being with my dog and my boyfriend going on walks, my favourite is probably walking to Grandmas on a Sunday for our dinner!

What makes you smile?

What makes me smile, my dog because he’s just the cutest, naughtiest pup ever. Especially when he’s having a mad half hour round the house.

Niamh started dental nursing in 2015 and worked at two general dental practices in Darlington before coming to work at Queensway Orthodontics in 2020.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing the transformation of a patient’s smile, and how the patient grows in confidence as the treatment progresses.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
Keeping fit, spending time with my friends and family, watching Netflix, and listening to music.

What makes you smile?
Spending time with my friends and family, listening to a song I love.

Julie started started dental nursing in 2002 and in 2020 gained her qualification in Orthodontic Therapy. Julie joined the Queensway Orthodontics team in October 2020. She absolutely loves being part of the team and looks forward to an exciting future.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
In the surgery/clinic

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I love to have face to face contact with patients, meeting new people. The most rewarding part has to be seeing the patients smile once their treatment is complete. For many patients this can be life changing.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I like to try and keep fit, though this has slipped a lot during the pandemic. I love to be outdoors, out walking or just sitting in the sunshine.

What makes you smile?
I love to laugh! And it doesn’t take much for me to do so. More professionally making someone else smile definitely makes me smile.

From the age of 16 Georgia worked within the hospitality industry completing roles in Front of House, Duty Manager, Receptionist and Assistant Manager. With this experience, Georgia has moved into a customer service-based role and she now thoroughly enjoys supporting patients and her team as Assistant Treatment Coordinator.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
I will be found in my office in Darlington.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I support patients with their first step of their smile journey and seeing their transformation.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I think my family would say I enjoy shopping a lot as I am always getting something new!

What makes you smile?
I am a very smiley person. I love to see others smile and laugh. Also, dogs can always put a smile on my face.

After completing a Law degree at Teesside University, Jo went on to work for a HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) company for six years taking on numerous job roles including admin, sales, accounts, and purchasing. As the company grew Jo was tasked with developing the company’s digital marketing and subsequently completed a marketing degree at NESMA. Realising that marketing was her passion, Jo joined the Queensway Dental and Orthodontics teams in January 2017 where she would be able to work with a much wider target audience.

At the beginning of 2020, Jo took on a new role of Marketing Coordinator to work for Queensway Orthodontics.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway?

Two things: working with such a great team and meeting patients before, during and after treatment. I love seeing patient’s treatment progress and the boost in confidence it gives them alongthe way.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

You might spot me just about anywhere – from my home office to any of our seven vibrant sites, capturing the perfect shot at a Queensway Star photoshoot, or deep in conversation with one of our brand ambassadors. When I’m in the practice, there’s a good chance my team member Laura is by my side, and together we’d be getting creative somewhere sparking a bit of fun chaos. The traditional desk job? That’s not my style. More often than not, I’m out creating engaging content for our socials or website, whether it’s diverse photoshoot locations or weaving through surgeries to document our incredible team or patients! Always on the move, always in the moment!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Creating content and coming up with ideas is a pivotalaspect of my role, and there’s a genuine thrill and sense of pride when I see my ideas and content come to life, be it in magazines, outdoor campaigns, or on our digital platforms like social media and our website.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Outside of work, I love being outdoors and being active, whether that’s hitting the gym or taking my two dogs for a walk. I also enjoy catching up with friendsand family, going out to restaurants and enjoying delicious food.

What makes you smile?

I’m quite a smiley person anyway but spending time with my dogs, friends and family (in that order) can always put a smile on my face.

Kimberley has spent most of her career in administrative and customer service roles in various sectors including hospitality. In recent years, Kimberley worked in or closely associated with NHS roles.

Darlington.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Creating a lasting, professional impression for patients and feeling part of a family at work.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I love to explore with my family. We try to travel to new places as much as possible.

Tiegan has been dedicated to the field of dental nursing for over five years, starting her career as a trainee when she was 17. After spending four years in general dentistry, where she completed her professional qualifications, Tiegan furthered her education in oral health. In April 2023, she transitioned to a part-time role in general dentistry to pursue her growing interest in orthodontics. Tiegan also contributes to the NHS 111 dental service during weekends and her spare time, driven by her passion for assisting patients. Her enthusiasm for orthodontics continued to flourish, leading her to focus entirely on this specialty. Tiegan joined Queensway Orthodontics in February 2024 and became a full-time member of the team in June.

Seeing how confident patients are at the end of treatment compared to them at the beginning of treatment. Everyone always has a beautiful smile!

Which practice/practices do you work at? Jesmond

Carla began her journey in dental nursing in 2016 at an NHS practice in Gateshead, where she worked for a year. She then transitioned to an NHS practice in Walker, dedicating four years of her career there. After five years in NHS practices, Carla felt the need to expand her skillset and opted for a position at a practice in Jesmond that emphasised private dentistry. Eventually, she felt the pull towards a different specialisation and believed that orthodontics was the path for her and started at QO in 2023.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? Usually in a surgery or running up and down the stairs getting patients.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing the beautiful transformations in peoples smile.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? To be honest I enjoy all aspects of my job but I mainly enjoy working with such an amazing and hardworking team.

What makes you smile? Seeing how happy people are at the end of their treatment with their glowing smiles.

Skye began her career in dental nursing, where she was first introduced to the field of orthodontics. Her fascination with this specialty encouraged her to further her expertise. She pursued an orthodontic nursing qualification, deepening her understanding and skills in the field. Motivated by her passion for orthodontics, Skye continued her educational journey at Warwick University, where she completed an advanced course in orthodontic therapy. She then joined QO in April 2024.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? I love seeing a huge difference in people's smiles + how much orthodontic treatment can change their life + I love being a part of it.

Amy worked in fashion for over five years before moving into graphic design and then became a creative manager at a mini zoo. From this she went into a customer facing role on reception/sales and then joined Queensway Orthodontics in July 2019.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

I enjoy meeting all the lovely patients and the staff are fabulous!

Which practice/practices do you work at?

Based in Billingham but I visit all of the practices.

Tell us a little bit about your career history

I worked at Northern Rocks IT dept during my sandwich year at uni. First proper job was IT Support at Sunderland university business school. I worked as an IT Consultant for TSG for over 15 years which is how I came to work for Queensway as TSG used to provide the IT Support here.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

Usually doing laps of the Billingham site. My IT cave is in the main building behind Oral Surgery Reception.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Being able to help users fix their IT issues – it can be very frustrating when things don’t work the way they should, so it’s nice to help.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I’m a massive music fan, I love going to gigs. I like a bit of hill walking especially in the lakes. I enjoy training, mainly in the gym though I’ve just started running again as I’m training for the GNR – I got my place through Queensway Ortho and their association with the Rainbow Trust.

What makes you smile?

My daughter winning Karate competitions at national level, she’s a Superstar.

Emma has worked in general dentistry since leaving school. She has always had an interest in orthodontics and when the opportunity came up to work within the specialised field, she decided that it was time for a change and joined the Queensway Orthodontics team in December 2020.

Where would you usually see me?
You will usually see me in surgery working alongside the orthodontists and orthodontic therapists.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Even though I have just started my career at Queensway Orthodontics, I have already experienced seeing the joy and smiles on patients faces as their smiles are transformed. I am looking forward to being part of their journey from the start of treatment to completion.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

What make you smile?
Seeing my children laughing and smiling.

Tell us a little about your career history:

My first job was at the South Causey Inn during secondary school, where I gained valuable skills and confidence. I then worked as a carer, building strong connections with clients and finding joy in helping them. I later decided to shift my career to orthodontics, joining Queensway as an apprentice, and I’m thoroughly enjoying learning and developing in my role here.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

You’ll usually find me at the reception desk, greeting everyone with a smile as they enter.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing the positive difference we make in people’s lives and feeling their appreciation toward me and the team.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love spending time with friends and family, cooking, and going on holidays to make new memories.

What makes you smile?

Going out with friends, having fun, and relaxing with some TV always make me smile.

My background has been predominantly in management and customer service, so this role is a completely new and exciting experience for me.

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

I enjoy socialising.

Reaching the end of a great book or enjoying a traffic-free morning commute.

After leaving school, Libby explored different paths, attending college and working various retail jobs. Libby decided to join Queensway at the beginning of 2024.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I think the most rewarding part of my job is seeing how happy the patients are after their orthodontic journey and seeing the confidence they have gained after treatment.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I like spending time with my friends and family. I love shopping and buying things that I absolutely don’t need

My dog Molly.

With two decades of dental nursing under her belt, Maddie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. She has an extensive background in both general dentistry and private cosmetics, ensuring a well-rounded approach to patient care.

For the past 12 years, Maddie has specialized in orthodontics, honing her skills and passion for helping patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles. Her dedication and experience make her an invaluable asset to our practice, and her warm, professional demeanor ensures every patient feels at ease. Maddie joined QO early 2024.

Rebecca has been nursing for 17 years and has excelled in many dental treatments, but orthodontics is her passion. Rebecca joined Queensway Orthodontics in 2023.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

In clinic assisting the therapist or orthodontist and in scanner working directly with the patients.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

She loves to help give patients their confidence back with a beautiful smile with less invasion treatment makes be happy.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Spending time with my husband and 5-year-old son, making memories.

What makes you smile?

My son when I haven’t seen him all day due to work, and he gives me the biggest smile and hug.

Rebecca started working as a dental nurse in 2007, working in general dentistry, implants,and oral surgery. She went on to becomea dental nurse tutorand assessor for severalyears before heading back into practice as a clinic manager. Rebecca joined Queensway Orthodontics in 2022 and is thoroughlyenjoying working in orthodontics.

I love seeing when we have helped the patientsand that we have made a difference as a team.

Christine began working as a dental nurse in 2000 in a general practice before moving to a specialist orthodontic practice in 2008. She retrained as an orthodontic therapist at the University of Central Lancashire, qualifying in 2011 and began working for Queensway Orthodontics' Jesmond practice in 2016.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

The new developments they have brought to an existing practice and their forward thinking, patient -centred approach to care.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

In surgery fitting and adjusting braces.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping people to smile, especially those who were particularly self-conscious about their teeth.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I’ve been learning to play the ukulele for about three years and regularly play with a group of friends.

What makes you smile?

Unicorns, rainbows and sparkle!

Kate qualified as a dental nurse in 2007. Over the years she has worked in NHS practices and Newcastle dental hospital. Kate qualified as an orthodontic nurse in 2018 where she worked in a busy NHS practice alongside a Specialist Orthodontist before coming to work for Queensway Orthodontics.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
You can usually find me in the surgery or nurse led clinic.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I love being part of the patient’s journey and seeing how happy they are with their smile at the end of their treatment.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and going out to nice restaurants.

What makes you smile?
My little boy Henry, going on holiday and cheese crackers.

Emily has been a dental nurse for 18 years and has spent the last 13 years working in orthodontics. She has always loved her job, but decided that she wanted a change and so has now moved into a patient support role.

Which practice/practices do you work at?

Consett

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? Patients will always see me sitting behind the reception desk as soon as they walk in. I am the face of the practice – which always has a smile on it – waiting to check patients in or answer the phone.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

I love helping people, so when patients are smiling and leave the practice/phone call happy it makes me feel great too.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I love spending time away in my caravan with my husband and dog. Otherwise you often find me on long walks with my dog in the countryside.

What makes you smile?

In general I am a very happy, smiley person but I particularly enjoy going to York with my hubby – it’s my favorite city. I do enjoy a glass of fizz snuggled up on the sofa with the hubby and my dog Millie too!

Amanda started working for Queensway Orthodontics in 1995 and she’s worked here ever since, making her one of the longest serving members of the team at over 25 years!

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

I enjoy working with an amazing team of people and seeing the end results.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

Working alongside one of our therapists or orthodontists.

Before joining Queensway in April 2020, Elizabeth worked as a hotel receptionist for five years and has recently moved to the Dental Industry.

Tell us a little bit about your career history: I have been a receptionist for most of my career but have recently moved into administration.

Tell us a little bit about your career history: After leaving secondary school, I worked as a dental nurse for six years, gaining valuable experience in patient care. I briefly stepped away from dentistry for a couple of years but I’m excited to be back at Queensway as an Assistant Treatment Coordinator.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? You’ll usually find me in the Darlington office, ready to assist and support patients on their orthodontic journey.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most fulfilling part of my role is helping patients take the first steps on their orthodontic journey and watching their confidence grow along the way.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? I enjoy starting my mornings with a run and love spending my evenings socialising with friends and family.

Amy qualified as a dental nurse in 2012 and worked in general practice until 2014 when she started working in Orthodontics. She joined Queensway Orthodontics in early 2020 to work at the Consett practice..

Stacey has been a dental nurse for 15 years and qualified in 2015. She worked in general dentistry up until 2020 and then moved to orthodontics. Stacey joined QO in April 2024.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing a case start and finish, the difference from the patients before and after is amazing.

Emily left school in 2017 and went straight into dentistry, working in both an NHS and private practice. Whilst working there, she found a passion for Invisalign treatment and knew she wanted to work in orthodontics.

Laura trained as a dental nurse at Newcastle Dental Hospital and qualified in 2003. She went on to work at a specialist orthodontic practice in Jesmond for seven years and gained her Orthodontic Nursing and Radiography qualification. She then went on to do her Orthodontic therapy at University Central Lancashire and qualified in 2010. After a couple of years at various dental practices in the region, Laura joined Queensway Orthodontics in 2014.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

Being part of an amazing team. No two days are the same and I’m constantly learning new things.

Joanne qualified as a dental nurse in 1994 and has worked for a mix of both NHS and private practices. She spent eight years dental nursing in Australia before joining Queensway Orthodontics in 2008. Following a year living in the USA, Jo returned to Queensway Orthodontics as Orthodontic Services Manager in January 2017.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

Helping the team with any issues and dealing with them as needed. I also work with a team of amazing people.

In the Orthodontic office – at the bottom of the stairs.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Knowing that my door is always open to help everyone.

Spending time with my boys, date nights and girly time.

Tell us a little about your career history: I have a diverse background, having worked in the prison service and as a Police Officer for Durham Constabulary. I recently returned to Darlington after living in London for 2 years, where I worked as Front of House for a private therapy company. I’m now thrilled to be part of such a prestigious company, known as the best in the orthodontic world!

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In our little office in Darlington.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? I love connecting with people at the start of their orthodontic journey, helping them work towards their perfect smile and regain their confidence.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Spending time with friends and family, going out for dinner, and visiting the Lake District.

In 1990 Colette started working as a dental nurse at ICI Wilton in Redcar. Colette gained the National Certificate in Dental Nursing and went on to complete post-qualifications in Oral Health, Sedation and Radiography. Colette joined Queensway in 1998 as a dental nurse and completed her teaching certificate.

Colette then worked at the North East Chamber of Commerce until 2005 where she trained dental nurses for the NVQ level 3. Colette also completed her D32/D33/D34 assessor and internal verifier award at the North East Chamber of Commerce.

Colette graduated from Northumbria University in 2004 gaining a BA (Hons) in Further Education and Training. In 2005 Colette completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Sunderland University.

Colette returned to Queensway as Clinical Governance Lead /Dental Nurse Tutor in 2005.

I qualified in dental nursing in 2016. I have worked in general dentistry for 3+ years (including training).

Tell us a little bit about your career history: Isla spent a year and a half as a waitress in an Italian restaurant, where she discovered her passion for customer service and thrived in a fast-paced setting. She then brought that enthusiasm to QO, joining us as a Patient Support Advisor.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? You’ll usually find me at reception, welcoming patients with a smile as they arrive at the practice.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? The best part of my job is seeing the transformation and the joy on a patient’s face when they achieve their perfect smile.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? In my free time, I love to read and bake—two activities that let me unwind and get creative!

Dawn started working as a dental nurse in general practice in 1995. Dawn moved to orthodontics in 2004 where she gained her orthodontic nursing and radiography qualifications. Dawn then qualified as an orthodontic therapist from Leeds in 2008.

Demi worked at her previous practice for 5 years and qualified as a dental nurse in 2018. She went on to gain additional skills, including becoming an FD nurse, stock nurse and repairs nurse.

Emma gained her degree in Industrial Design but wanted a career change that had more suitable hours to accommodate her young family. She completed her dental nursing qualification after two years via day release in 2018 whilst working full time as a trainee dental nurse. Once qualified she worked as lead nurse and stock manager in an NHS and private practice. She joined Queensway Orthodontics in May 2019 as a dental nurse and more recently Emma has changed roles to be an orthodontic treatment coordinator, starting this role in June 2020.

What do you enjoy most about working at Queensway Orthodontics?
I love being more involved with a patient’s smile journey - the patient interaction is above and beyond. Whether it be a friendly conversation over the phone, face to face, or more recently our new virtual consultations, every day is so rewarding!

Tell us a little bit about your career history

I followed my childhood dream and qualified as a Paediatric staff nurse at Teesside University in 1998. Following 10 years of working within the Paediatric setting of Neurology and Bone Marrow transplants, I decided to have a change in career and found myself in the world of medical devices working with the Critical care and Theatre teams.

In 2009 I was given an opportunity to work within the dental sector and that is where my career with Nobel Biocare and dental implants started. Throughout the huge learning journey of Dentistry, I have been awarded ‘Territory Manager of the Year’ 3 times and was also awarded an ‘Outstanding Achievement award’ in 2013.

While a large proportion of my role with Nobel Biocare was to support and develop clinicians with their implant side of the business, I have also enjoyed the continuation of education and have been involved in setting up and running courses for both dentists and dental nurses. I have also pioneered and set the standard for running quarterly regional study clubs across the UK and Ireland.

Nell sat her A levels last year and decided she wanted to do an apprenticeship so she could gain qualifications whilst working full time. Nell had braces with QO when she was a teenager and knew it would be a nice and friendly environment to work in. Nell started working for QO at the end of 2023.

I started as dental nurse in a busy NHS practice, which then lad to me working at Queensway Orthodontics as a dental nurse for around 3 years. Whilst here, I was very passionate about becoming a dental hygienist and therapist. As a dental nurse, I completed many qualifications to help me eventually become a dental therapist. After successfully completing my degree with a First-class honour, I was very fortunate that an exciting new position had become available within the orthodontic department, so I eagerly returned to Queensway Orthodontics!

I have a diverse background, with experience in both retail and customer/client services, as well as warehousing. From a joinery apprenticeship to working as a fulfilment associate, I’ve always thrived in busy work environments.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping patients throughout their treatment and answering their inquiries always brings a smile to my face, especially when they leave with a smile of their own.

I love playing and watching football, even though my team, Manchester United, often manages to ruin my weekends! I also enjoy gaming and reading in my spare time.

Leanne started her career as a dental nurse, joining Queensway Orthodontics in 1997 when there were only four surgeries! Leanne has worked in various areas of dentistry, including implants and oral surgery, before joining Guy in orthodontics in 2014.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
I am mainly based at home; all of our consultations are virtual. I do visit the practices when required.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing patient confidence grow to have orthodontic treatment. It is not just about the pretty smiles; it really is life-changing for some people.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I really enjoy walking, getting out in the fresh air, listening to a podcast, cooking, creating new recipes, trying new dishes, meeting friends, and of course, the odd glass of Prosecco.

What makes you smile?
Lots of things make me smile; I am a very smiley, happy person. My husband bringing me coffee in the mornings always puts a smile on my face.

Tell us a little bit about your career history: Megan started dental nursing in 2018 and completed her qualification in 2020 - whilst on maternity leave. She has worked in general nursing for four years, before leaving to join Queensway Orthodontics in January 2022.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In the surgery working with either an Orthodontic Therapist or Orthodontist.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing the confidence patients gain after completing treatment and having their perfect smile.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? Spending time with my daughter, family and friends.

Prior to applying for Queensway, Kim used to own a Coffee Shop/ Deli in Eaglescliff. Having made it through Covid, with a huge peak in the rise of utilities and other outgoings she decided to sell up and move on while the business was at an all-time high. Kim started working for QO in 2023.

In 2008 Phil graduated from Teesside University with a degree in Accounting and Finance. Phil has gained many years’ experience in the accounting profession working in various forms of business from retail to international imports and exports. In November 2010 Phil joined Queensway Dental Clinic as Accounts Manager. In 2012 Phil embarked on his ACCA (Association Of Certified and Chartered Accountants) qualification, to further his career here at Queensway, with the aim of becoming a fully qualified Chartered Accountant.

Bronya began her dental nursing career in June 2022 at a general practice as a student. Her interest in orthodontics soon led her to specialise in this area, prompting her move to an orthodontic practice. After passing her dental nursing exam in February 2024, Bronya joined us at Queensway Orthodontics.

In surgery working with an OT or running a nurse led clinic.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing how much changing someone’s smile can have such a positive impact on their life. It’s amazing when you can follow a patient’s journey from start to finish and watch their confidence grow massively.

Sabina decided to pursue a career as a dental nurse after joining a dental nursing course and working at a few different practices. Sabina loves her job and enjoys all aspects of her role as she enjoys helping to make people smile.

When I see smiles on patients’ faces and satisfaction they get from our job. Also, when me as a person, my job, time, thoughts, hard work, contribution, effort and dedication are recognised and appreciated.

Aparna has extensive experience in both NHS and private dental practices, specialising in implantology and cosmetic dentistry. She has adeptly assisted and monitored dental sedation cases prior to joining Queensway Orthodontics in 2023.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? The most rewarding part of my job is when patients feel happy about their treatment.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? Recently I have joined Bollywood dance class- my current favourite.

Bethany worked as a travel agent for 4 years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. However, dentistry runs in the family so it is something she has always wanted to get involved with – so she recently joined Queensway Orthodontics!

Helen began her career as a Trainee Dental Nurse at a general practice in Darlington right after school in 2001, obtaining her qualification in 2002. Leaving Darlington in 2005, she relocated to York to attend University with an aim to train as a General Nurse. However, realising it wasn’t her true calling, she reverted to Dental Nursing and ventured into Orthodontics in 2008, joining the team at Falchion Orthodontics. At this establishment, she climbed the ranks to become the Head Nurse and pursued additional qualifications in Dental Radiography and Orthodontic Nursing. Come 2015, she sized the opportunity to train as an Orthodontic Therapist at Windmill Orthodontics in Newcastle, earning her qualification in 2016. After dedicating 8 years at Windmill, she made the pivotal move to Queensway Orthodontics.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In one of the clinics.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing a patient’s confidence grow over time as their smile improves.

What do you enjoy doing out of work? Out of work I enjoy spending time with my partner and his two little girls. Also seeing friends and family, travelling to new places and going to gigs.

What makes you smile? Making other people happy

Before I worked at Queensway Orthodontics, I worked in mental health or care. I love helping people and building up wonderful, trusting relationships. I also studied counselling and volunteered with Mind and the Samaritans.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The amazing people I work with! I have never known a company to be so team-orientated and caring, it’s an eye opener!

Walking my puppy, planning adventures with my kids or finding new music.

Tell us a little bit about your career history:
I qualified as a dental nurse in 2012, early on in my dental nursing career I became very interested in orthodontics and took a job as an orthodontic dental nurse very shortly after qualifying. I then got offered the opportunity to train as an Orthodontic Therapist in 2014 on the Leeds Orthodontic Therapy course and have been doing this wonderful job ever since.

Seeing patients full of confidence with their new smile at the end of treatment.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I enjoy meeting friends for brunch or coffee and taking my little boy to baby classes and soft plays.

Tell us a little bit about your career history:
Emily started dental nursing in 2018 after graduating from university with a higher education certificate. She relocated to Liverpool and nursed in an NHS practice before moving back to the North East and started work at Queensway Orthodontics in 2022.

Assisting in one of the surgeries.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing patients’ confidence grow as they move through treatment.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and going to live music events.

What makes you smile?
My family, friends and literally any dog!

Rachael graduated from Teesside University in 2010 with a BA (Hons) Business Management degree and then worked in accounts at Northgate PLC in corporate credit control. She has been at Queensway Orthodontics since September 2015 following maternity leave.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

I enjoys the fast paced working environment, each day is different and the orthodontics team work well together.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

I can usually be found in her office at the bottom of the orthodontic stairs and occasionally at reception.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Being able to see the patient’s journey of treatment and advising on different payment options – making sure there is something to suit everyone.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I enjoy socializing with friends and family but most of all doing activities such as swimming and visiting parks and attractions with her little boy.

What makes you smile?

Family, friends and my son – it’s the little things – enjoy them! They make life big!

Tell us a little bit about your career history:
In 2022, I began my dental nursing journey. After qualifying earlier this year i applied for a position as an orthodontic dental nurse at Queensway. I’ve always admired the atmosphere of their practices and find the work both interesting and fulfilling.

I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to building a long-lasting career with Queensway Orthodontics.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
I’m usually in the sterilisation room during any spare time, making sure my colleagues have all the instruments they need to keep the day running smoothly.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the boost in confidence our patients experience as they progress through their treatment.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I have a passion for retail therapy—not for clothes, but for home accessories! I also enjoy training with my husband at the gym. My favourite part of the day is the evening, when I can relax on the sofa with a cup of tea.

What makes you smile?
Making a positive impact on someone’s day brings a smile to my face, whether it’s helping someone overcome a challenge or cheering up a loved one with a thoughtful gesture.

Sophie worked as a travel agent for 17 years and then worked as an admin assistant before coming to Queensway Orthodontics.

The colleagues, it’s like a family. Queensway’s reputation is excellent and I’m proud to work here.

Seeing people after they have finished treatment come to the reception desk – they can’t smile wide enough!

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Spending time with my husband and little boy, going to football matches and the gym.

Amy has worked in public-focused environments for 13 years in various roles and industries, including restaurant and event management, as well as being a veterinary receptionist. I love working with people and going the extra mile for them.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing all the happy faces and the confidence their new smiles bring them.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I enjoy going for long walks with my family and dog in my spare time – although they tend to be slow ones with a 3 - and 5-year-old in tow!I also love to cook and through lockdown started my own foodie Instagram page focused on staying healthy and active as a busy mum.

Before starting at Queensway Orthodontics, Alice’s previous jobs included working for the family business and working for an insurance company on the desks and front of house.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
As soon as the door opens, I am the first face people see at the front of reception.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping people with their enquiries and with their treatment by booking them in for future appointments. I love helping people so when patients are smiling and leave the practice/phone happy it makes me feel great too.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I enjoy going on family days out and having movie night weekends with my little boy.

What makes you smile?
Seeing others smiling, having fun or when people are being kind. Compliments from patients thanking us is one of the main reasons I love doing what I do.

Before Lucy joined the team at Queensway Orthodontics as a Patient Support Advisor, she worked as a dental nurse for five years.

Which practice/practices do you work at?
I am located at the Billingham site.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
The patients would find me on reception greeting them as they arrive at the practice or in the hub.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing patients happy throughout their journey with us.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?
Out of my working hours, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy taking my little Cocker Spaniel, Bailey, and my partner’s Schnauzer, Quinny, on adventurous walks.

What makes you smile?
My family and friends.

Michelle qualified as a dental nurse in 1999 with a NEBDN qualification in oral health, x-rays, sedation and orthodontic nursing. In May 2017, Michelle was highly commended at the Dental Awards in the Dental Nurse of the Year category.

She worked for Queensway Dental for four years before joining the orthodontic team three years ago. Since then, Michelle has gained experience working as a lead nurse and helps to deliver a fluoride varnish programme across schools in the North East.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway Orthodontics?

I love being part of Dr Guy Deeming’s team as I believe he is driving orthodontics forward in this world.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

Either in our Jesmond or Billingham practice.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Meeting all the patients and learning about them.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Spending time with family – my husband, Christopher and daughter, Amia.

Anything makes me smile and I love making others happy.

Shauna started her career in the dental field in 2016 as an apprentice, where she quickly developed a strong foundation and passion for patient care. After earning her Diploma, she gained extensive experience working in both NHS and private dental practices.

In 2021, Shauna shifted her focus to orthodontics, and in April 2024, she joined our team at Queensway Orthodontics. Dedicated to furthering her expertise, Shauna recently secured a place on the Dental Radiography course.

Seeing the difference a new smile can make to someone’s confidence.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Spending time with my family, taking my little boy on days out and going away in our camper van to new places. I also enjoy going out for food.

Watching my little boy grow up and learn new things.

Charlotte started dental nursing in 2005 and then continued to work at her first practice for 16 years, gaining her dental nursing, orthodontic nursing, impression taking, radiography and orthodontic therapy qualifications. When the time came to move on, she gained experienced working in another practice before eagerly taking advantage of an opportunity to come and work with Queensway Orthodontics.

Which practice/practices do you work at?

I am Billingham based, but I also help at all other practices when needed.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

Patients would usually find me in my surgery busy at work or in the kitchen grabbing a cuppa as I love a good cup of tea!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is knowing how much I’ve changed someone’s life and confidence. There’s nothing better than seeing a patient’s reaction upon brace removal and how much it means to them!

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

I love family days out with the kids when I’m not at work – we do a lot of walking and love discovering new places. My little boy also plays for a local football team so we are usually supporting him most Saturdays when he has a match or watching my little girl do her dance shows.

What makes you smile?

My family always puts a smile on my face, it’s good to appreciate every moment in life and not take anything for granted. Also, pizza and a glass of wine on a weekend puts a very big smile on my face!
