Hello Patients,

Welcome to our October 2022 newsletter,

Team QO have been extremely busy in the last month, from attending the British Orthodontic Conference to sharpen our knowledge, to cooking up a storm in the kitchen to help raise money for anti-bullying charity Kidscape. 

And in the midst of all the chaos we are, of course, loving every second of seeing more patients beam with confidence as they see their new smile for the first time.

Members of team QO recently attended this year’s British Orthodontic Conference.

Dr Guy Deeming was joined by our talented team to lead and attend clinical workshops and keep up to date with current research and developments in orthodontics.

Here at QO we are always looking for ways to sharpen up our knowledge and skills in order to provide our patients with the highest standards of care.

Specialist Orthodontist, @nadiaahmedorthodontics told us her highlight was attending the @dentalmonitoring event, which was a great opportunity to learn more about how innovative technology can benefit our patients at QO. We are also justly proud of Training Coordinator, Michelle, who presented a session on the importance of clinical photography, which was enjoyed by all.

Did you know poor waste management contributes to climate change and air pollution, and directly affects many ecosystems and species?

That’s why, at Queensway Orthodontics, we take our waste responsibility seriously. With the help of J&B Recycling, we are delighted to support #RecycleWeek2022, raising awareness and challenging perceptions and myths around recycling.

 

CSR Champs, Caz and Leanne were delighted to be invited for a tour of the facility in Hartlepool to find out more about the recycling process.

 

We know it’s a minefield when it comes to knowing what you can and can’t recycle, so why not test your knowledge by taking this short quiz? You could WIN a bottle of fizz just for taking part! Every little helps.

In a fun effort to raise money for our anti-bullying charity partner, Kidscape, we invited our team to join us in The Great QO Bake Off! The team received award certificates in the following categories: Tastiest Treat, Most Creative, Healthiest Bake and Free From.

We are delighted to report that we raised £177.50 for Kidscape and we are so proud of the team for their efforts in baking and donating. Huge well done to our CSR Lead, Caz, for all her efforts in organising this (yummy) and fun challenge.

With the cost of living on the rise, there’s never been a better time to cut your energy bills and be kind to the planet at the same time.

At QO, we are always looking for ways to save energy, both at work and at home. Just take a look at this helpful TikTok created by the team to show the ways we are saving energy in our practices.

Incorporating a few energy-saving tips into your life won’t just keep your house warm in winter and reduce your bills; there’s the added bonus of helping the UK reach its target of net zero emissions by 2050.
