QO Newsletter

Hello and welcome to the final newsletter of 2022! Where did that year go?

Before we share all our news, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our patients and our team for the continued support and smiles we have received throughout the year. Each and every one of you has helped to brighten our days in your own way and we’re so glad to have you as part of our Queensway family.

We hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter. Keep scrolling to see how you can donate any unwanted woolly warmers you have laying around at home to those in need, and to meet an incredibly inspiring patient of ours.

On behalf of the whole team at Queensway Orthodontics, we wish you a magical Christmas and a happy New Year.

Laura
Queensway Orthodontics

PS… We’re delighted to be able to offer hygiene appointments with our experienced Hygienist, Leigh. Exclusive to QO patients only – just call 01642 352440 to book. You can see some of the sparkling smiles that have benefited from a scale and polish here and why not add an air polish for that extra WOW factor! Check out our TikTok (this is our premium package!)

Here at QO, we have enough kids between us to know that children are forever losing their woolly warmers at school and these items are essential in keeping them warm through the cold winter months.

So please don’t forget that we are collecting unwanted hats, gloves, scarves and woolly socks as part of our Winter Warmers campaign to help keep those warm who need it most.

Get involved today!
If your children have grown out of old warm winter clothes and accessories, or you’re just having a pre-Christmas clear out, pop into any of our practices and drop them into the collection boxes in our waiting rooms. We’ll collect all the donations and deliver them to local food banks. Thank you for your kindness.

One of our Giving Back Commitments is to support local food banks to help bring essential supplies and food to families in need.

This December, the Queensway Orthodontics team has donated £250 worth of essential food items to each of our five local food banks, helping to put meals on the table for several families this festive season.

Did you know one in a hundred people has an autism diagnosis? It’s believed the number with autism is actually a lot higher, as many adults are undiagnosed.

Last month, autism charity Daisy Chain visited QO to deliver an enthusiastic and interactive training session all about autism.

The training day provided our team with a better understanding and awareness of autism and the way it may affect some of our patients and community. It also helped us to identify a strategy to support our neurodiverse patients, as well as help us to promote a diverse and inclusive workforce.

If you or your child are neurodiverse and want to let us know how we can make your appointment more comfortable, please email us ahead of your appointment or let us know on the day and we’ll do all we can.

An inspiration to many, 23 year old patient Jessica suffers from multiple chronic health conditions, including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome, among others.

Jessica has been fighting for the correct diagnoses and treatments for years and by sharing her challenging journey with the world, has become a voice for others with the same conditions. Now she has also become an Invisalign Smile Squad Ambassador, under the care of Queensway Orthodontics.

We are incredibly proud to have Jessica with us as she progresses towards a confident Queensway smile. You can follow Jess and her journey on TikTok and Instagram and find out how she feels about starting her Invisalign treatment here.
